Ask yourself why you wrote this. Guilt for being a welfare rat. Reminds me of the Wolfram's trying to rationalize clawing back funds for such projects as Stocks mill, 42 Union and the Keefer.

Don't be that guy. That spidey voice in your head is talking to you.

Great article! I did not know about the door requirement at the hotel. That ought to be fun when you're trying to find your hotel room.

Too often the regulators are stupid people who have been given authority well beyond their ability. Too harsh? Not from what I've seen.

I did not realize the gov't soaked over 50% of GDP. That is a sad revelation & a rough hurdle to overcome as we've become the junkie needing to get the needle out of our lives but reliant on the payload for what feels like equilibrium. One hopes DOGE will set some of this right, but the repercussions of that will certainly hit anyone getting a national check or service and the adjustment will, I'm afraid, hit We The People long before it will effect the desired drastically-necessary effect of draining the swamp. We REALLY NEED the haircut. I truly hope your credits & grants are made before the scythe cuts too close to the ground, & look forward to what is to come of our beautiful downtown as you press forward.

We'll keep pushing our little slice ahead, one wall or bookshelf at a time, & anticipate a rising tide as folks across the fruited plain & around the planet realize the deep value here in our people.

If one may ask, how are plans going for the school? Will it be stood up in time to assist in some of the build-out?

I too hold the same hopes for DOGE.

It's interesting they used a video of Trump from 2016, justifying the taking of grants, while he was debating Hillary. I also share you concern about these grants this project seems to depend on not being there, as Trump #2 seems more serious about keeping his promises then Trump #1.

While I can't fault a business of grabbing what is there, there has to be a for profit business need. Hillsdale has a long line of grant business failures, and just in general, if there isn't a product market fit, grants just delay the inevitable.
